Wildflowers are blooming in Death Valley thanks to warm spring weather and winter rains.

When people think of Death Valley, they often imagine a harsh desert with some of the highest temperatures ever recorded on Earth. It may seem like almost nothing could grow in such extreme conditions… but that’s not entirely true.

Despite its tough climate, the park surprises visitors every year with beautiful blooms. This season is especially promising, thanks to winter rainfall that created favorable conditions for wildflowers.

The most common flower is the desert sunflower, also known as "desert gold", which looks like a golden daisy and forms stunning yellow fields.

Other blooms include sand verbena and purple phacelia, adding soft colors to the dramatic desert landscape.

Nature once again reminds us: even in the harshest places, beauty can flourish.
