From Showgirls to Street Art: Hidden Las Vegas Walking Tour
Оставьте The golden age of Las Vegas showgirls began in the late 1950s, when the city embraced lavish European-style revues.
Two legendary productions introduced this style to Las Vegas:
Lido de Paris, which debuted at the Stardust Resort and Casino in 1958. Folies Bergère, which premiered at the Tropicana Las Vegas in 1959.
These spectacular productions transformed casino entertainment. Instead of simple lounge acts, audiences experienced elaborate theatrical performances with orchestras, grand staging, and dozens of dancers dressed in dazzling costumes.
The showgirl quickly became the visual symbol of Las Vegas.
While the grand casino revues have largely disappeared, their spirit continues in the cultural landscape of the city. Public art installations, murals, and sculptures now celebrate the legacy of these performers.
One example is the towering Las Vegas Showgirl Gateway, located near The STRAT Hotel, Casino & Tower, where two 50-foot showgirls welcome visitors entering downtown.
The installation reminds us that the story of Las Vegas is not only about casinos and neon lights, it is also about the performers who brought beauty, creativity, and imagination to the stage.
After visiting the iconic Las Vegas Showgirl Gateway, we continue our walk along the historic Main Street corridor, gradually entering the creative heart of the city - the Las Vegas Arts District.

Here we will explore colorful murals, contemporary street art, local galleries, vintage shops, and the vibrant atmosphere that has transformed this former industrial area into one of the most exciting cultural neighborhoods in Las Vegas.
From the Arts District we continue toward Midtown, learning about the urban revitalization that reshaped this part of the city and attracted artists, entrepreneurs, and creative communities.
Our journey then leads us into Downtown Las Vegas, where the city’s history began more than a century ago.
The tour concludes at the legendary Fremont Street Experience, the original heart of Las Vegas. Beneath its spectacular LED canopy, we will talk about the city’s early casinos, its transformation into a global entertainment destination, and the vibrant energy that continues to define downtown today.
